Ruby Porter
MBE told us about her work at Sreepur Village, Bangladesh.
The village
houses over 500 babies and children and 140 destitute women. They are provided
with a loving environment, food, clothing, education and vocational training.
Ruby brought
with her a wonderful selection of hand woven and embroidered items to raise
money for the village. In the photograph she is holding a scarf hand woven in the village from natural fibres and dyed with natural dyes.
We can help
in a small way by donating threads and needles. Please bring what you have to
our meeting in May.
There are
lovely pictures of Sreepur Village on their website There is also
the opportunity to help by donating money.
